Eric Lefkofsky’s Incredible Participation in Cancer Research

Eric Lefkofsky is one of the architects of behind the success of Groupon. The company focuses on technological advances in the medical research fields. The Chicago’s popular technological industry is also involved in channeling generous funds towards finding the cure for cancer.

Additionally, Eric Lefkofsky also works at Tempus, a company that incorporates technology and modern healthcare to improve the delivery of cancer treatments. Tempus has mostly majored in genomic sequencing for cancer genes with the hope of finding the right treatment for this deadly disease. Some of the types of cancer that they offer treatment for include pancreatic cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer and much more.

Most importantly, Eric Lefkofsky has fuelled cancer research for various scientific organizations through Lefkofsky Family Foundation with the help of his beloved wife Liz. This philanthropic organization gave generously to the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center of Northwestern University with their donations amounting to $1 million. In addition to that, Lefkofsky Family Foundation also funded the gastric cancer research that was carried out at Stanford University. Eric Lefkofsky’s charitable organization provided funds that the researchers used to find cure and treatment for this type of cancer through immunotherapy. While at it, Lefkofsky Family Foundation gave $500,000 for this medical exercise. Generosity and kindness seem to be his core virtues for he didn’t stop there but went ahead to channel $250,000 to fund cancer breast research that was carried out by Weill Cornell Medicine in New York.

Recently, a survey was conducted to explain the reasons behind the increased costs of medical care while taking a closer look at the individual spending of the people of the United States of America. However, the reduction in the cases of diseases such as cancer is hoped to reduce the incidences of spending millions of dollars in healthcare. Professors from various medical institutions also came up with their views on the topic.

According to most of them, for example, the University of Washington’s Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation’s Joseph Dieleman stated that the prevalence of the disease and the value of the drugs used by the patients is a major factor to consider. Altogether, Eric Lefkofsky’s participation in cancer research is incomparable.
