James Dondero Lends Support To Dallas Charity

James Dondero, the highly successful hedge fund manager and co-founder of Highland Capital Management, is now making headlines for his philanthropy as well as for his achievements in the financial realm. Putting his money where his mouth is, Dondero has recently made a huge commitment to The Family Place, which is an organization in Dallas that assists victims of domestic violence. Dondero was inspired by pleas for help by both the mayor of Dallas and the Dallas police chief. Furthermore, James Dondero stated that he was impressed by how The Family Place runs its organization and is proud to support it. The money raised will be used in part to help The Family Place build a badly needed counseling center. This facility will include shelter beds for emergency guests, a job training center and will even boast a medical and dental clinic. It is estimated that the shelter will help roughly 2,000 victims of domestic violence a year.
