Shafik Sachedina is a well-seasoned dental surgeon serving as one of the two chairmen of the Sussex Healthcare chain based primarily in Sussex England. For the past 25 years, Sussex Healthcare has been providing a wide range of quality healthcare services. Their fleet includes over 20 homes that care for the elderly who suffer from a wide array of conditions such as: dementia, Alzheimer’s disease and other physical and learning disabilities. Shafik Sachedina was born in Tanzania in 1950 and attended and completed dental school at Guy’s Hospital Dental School at the University of London in 1975. Shafik, now a British National living in England, later attended London Dental School where he did most of his training to become a dental surgeon. As a surgeon, he currently holds numerous positions with different healthcare companies and has been operating as a surgeon with many hospitals across the U.K. earning him a reputation as one of the most renowned dental surgeons in the industry. Shafik Sachedina has contributed to the Institute of Ismaili Studies for quite some time. The institute was created to promote awareness for Islamic culture around the world and owns one of the largest libraries that educates others in the culture through journals, books and other reference materials. Shafik is the Head of the Department at Jamati Iinstitute. His key responsibility is to ensure that the institute’s activities run smoothly among the sixteen branches that he oversees. Shafik is also part of the management board where he makes key decisions for the institute. As a well-known philanthropist, Shafik is also a member of the Aga Khan Development Network which oversees the economic development of Muslims across the world. He is also a proud member of the Humanitarian Assistance International Coordinating Committee.
